Rock salt

Rock salt

Rock Salt

Is using the rock salt alone safe? Doesn’t it lead to a decrease in iodine when using it for a medium-long term? Is it necessary to take the refined salt that is rich in iodine in order to compensate and to prevent the decrease of iodine?

In the Balanced Nutrition System and according to the principle of God's creation has guidance. We consider the rock salt and the natural sea salt, which is created by God-Glory to Him- for human is better than the refined table salt, to which iodine is artificially added and which the human made (Cook, 2016)

Our Glorious Lord referred to that in Quran “Is then He, Who creates as the one who does not create? Will you not then remember" (17) An-Nahl. (Quran) .

One of the fundamentals that the principles of nutrition science in the Holy Quran  consider is that the creation of God, which is dedicated to humans is a balanced and consistent creation by all standards  in all types of its elements and contents and in  quantities, rates of and modes of action of these elements as well as, in their source  and time of availability along the year,  Therefore,  they are balanced and consistent by all standards and they establish a homeostasis inside the bodies that God has created and designed through being good and balanced nutrients.

(Tarighat-Esfanjani et.al., 2016)  .

However, we feel this meaning in the saying of God: "And the earth We spread out, and placed therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein all kinds of things in due proportion ''.

(19)" (Quran)

"And we have provided therein means of living, for you and for those whom you provide not (20)"And there is not a thing, but with Us are the stores thereof. And We send it not down except in a known measure''

(21)" Al-Hijr(Quran)

I recommend you to watch the episode "The creation of God has guidance “and the episode "The products of Balanced Nutrition are balanced products in every step of their manufacture” as well in which these concepts are well explained. However, we were successful to understand this principle; we believe that the rock salt and even the natural sea salt were formed throughout thousands of years by God's care. The sea salt as well was created, so human benefits from it we consider that all types of rock salt (Apurbo S et.al., 2016)  and the sea salt are balanced in their elements and components.

Studying the refined salt showed that it significantly differs from the natural rock salt in quality, quantity, and ratios of elements, in a way that refined salt contains less elements. We have a complete article in our website that discusses this significant difference  between the balanced salt, the rock salt and the sea salt on one side, these that God created and the refined salt on the other side, that human manufactured  and discusses their impact on human health. However, to answer your question we say: We, in the Balanced Nutrition System, consider the natural rock salt even though it does not contain iodine, but it is consistent and balanced because the natural source of iodine is not the in refined salt but it is in seafood, fishes, and crabmeat in addition to seaweeds meals that are rich in natural iodine, which has a wonderful bioavailability.

(Julshamn et.al., 2001)

Therefore, the balanced natural salts, both the rock salt and the sea salt  are balanced and safe, because they are not refined they do not cause any problems in the body  In contrast, they are favorable according to the proved study that our website refers to even better than the refined salt that contains added iodine artificially(Cook, 2016) . Here, it is worthy to refer that the lack of iodine is related to many healthy problems. Because it is one of the rare elements in the soil and in the human body and because it is essential for many functions. (Delange, 1994) Thus, Iodine deficiency is correlated to Hypothyroidism and enlargement of the thyroid gland this unique gland  plays a role in regulating metabolism,  and in  energy generation, in  fat distribution and in controlling the weight of  human(Zimmermann et.al., 2008)  . The lack of iodine associates with an increasing possibility of breast cancer and gastric cancer, as studies proved(Venturi et.al., 2000) . Moreover, Iodine deficiency leads to disorders in motoric skills such as writing and embroidery. Studies also indicated to that Iodine deficiency associates with some visual problems and is correlated with autism(Zimmermann et.al., 2006) Here, we repeat again.

The redefined salt is not a natural source for iodine and adding iodine to it, is not a good alternative to natural iodine. (Diosady et.al., 1997)  Rather, the natural iodine, which is essential to human body is important as Quran mentioned, it can be found as bioavailable and bioactive iodine in fishes and seafood(Julshamn et.al., 2001). God (Glory to Him) described iodine with a property that the human likes most in meat which is "a fresh meat" in the following verse, "So that you eat from it fresh meat and bring forth out of it ornaments to wear and you see the ships plow through it so that you may seek of His Bounty and that you may be grateful(14)" .

An-Nahl. (Quran)

The seaweeds were also indirectly mentioned in the Holy Quran and they are a very rich source for the natural iodine when God mentioned that they are from the seafood(Hou et.al., 1997) . "Lawful to you is the hunting of the sea and its food  for the benefit of your and for those who travel"(96) Al-Maida and God Glory to Him knows best.
